Prabhas And Mahesh - Giving Life To Father


Very often when star kids or kids from star families make their foray into the film industry, the expectations are high. Most of them expect the kids to match up to their fathers or family members who were stars during their time. But then, there comes a time when the essence of the old timers is preserved by their next generations.

The classic examples for that are Prabhas and Mahesh Babu. Though Krishnam Raju is not father of Prabhas, he is almost equal to father given his mentoring and bonding with the young rebel star. On the other hand, superstar Krishna is the father of Mahesh Babu and the Ghattamaneni legacy continues.

Now, the cine observers say that both Krishna, Krishnam Raju would long have been forgotten if it was not for Prabhas and Mahesh. They say “Because of their star presence, even today both Krishna and Krishnamraju are invited for film events and given awards in honor. The same will apply to Chiranjeevi down the line. Even the senior artist P J Sarma got recognition due to his son Sai Kumar.”

That way, a lesson in life is to know the importance of grooming children in the right way and make them carve a brand of their own.

Mahesh Babu in talks with yet another brand?


Brand endorsements have become an inseperable part of Mahesh Babu’s career as an actor. He’s currently endorsing seven brands and there’s a strong buzz that he’s in talks with another brand. We hear that a leading jewellery brand from Chennai, ‘Jos Alukkas’ are in talks with Mahesh Babu for promoting the brand in Andhra Pradesh. Vijay endorses this brand in Tamil Nadu.

Few weeks ago, another popular jewellery brand, Malabar Gold was said to be in talks with Mahesh, although the deal was never finalized. It remains to be seen if Jos Alukkas will be Mahesh Babu’s eighth brand endorsement or not. His list of endorsements includes – Thums Up, Idea, Vivel, Navratna, Amrutanjan, Provogue and Univercell.

Generally, top league heroines have been endorsing the big jeweler brands of India. Aishwarya and Katrina for Nakshatra Diamonds, Bipasha for Gili diamonds, Jacqueline Fernandez for D'Damas Gold and the list goes on. However, things are quite reverse in Telugu circuit as male leads are fighting for female stuff. All that started with King Nagarjuna and Victory Venkatesh endorsing 'Kalyan Jewellers' & 'Manappuram Gold' to become an inspiration for Jr NTR to sign with 'Malabar Gold'. It is heard that Superstar Mahesh Babu is now going to strike a deal with 'Joy Alukkas'. While brands are enjoying the popularity they are getting with these prime stars faces, fans are a bit disturbed as their heroes are doing some girly acts.

Big Heroes have been testing the patience of audience with their huge budgeted flicks made with sick content. Mahesh Babu's 'Khaleja', Ram Charan's 'Orange', Pawan Kalyan's 'Puli' and Jr NTR's 'Shakti' are the best examples of this 'torture' art. Again and again, our makers are coming up with same dud flicks that tumble at the BO. The main culprit behind these money wasting blunders is said to be the mass-image of our Star heroes.

The time has surely come for Star Telugu heroes to come out of their 'image' mask to deliver good hits at the Box Office. Veiled with that mass image 'musugu', our top heroes are becoming buffoons with their each advancing day for the kind of flicks they make. When it comes to a Star-Hero's movie, directors are adding unwanted sick comedy and sensational fights to enthrall the star’s fans. In the name of that 'image', these extra terrestrial elements are spoiling the originality and genuineness of the content. 'Khaleja' and 'Puli' are the best examples in the recent past, while 'Teen Maar' is the best one today. While the hindi original 'Love Aaj Kal' portrays the expressions and emotions of love at peak levels, its Telugu remake was altered with senseless fights.

For targeting whole sections of B & C centres, the films should be completely commercial with all heroic elements. If they go on changing genuine subjects into melodramatic content for the sake of fans, audience will keep on rejecting them. Star heroes should change their mindset to make good films unveiling their image-mask, such that the facet of Telugu Industry will change to reach new levels.

In what seems like an open challenge at the BO for the position of a Top Hero throne, Superstar Mahesh Babu is coming the other way round to prove his mettle.

Currently, romantic hero Mahesh Babu is busy in wrapping the shoot of his upcoming flick 'Dookudu' in the direction of Srinu Vytla. However, the overall graph shows that the grown up prince is unable to deliver atleast 3 flicks in 2 years. Rather than concentrating on his scripts, Mahesh Babu is more inclined towards brand endorsements, it appears. Many consumer goods giants are going crazy over this hero before signing up endorsement contracts with him. Right from Thumbs Up, Navratna Hair Oil, Univercell, Amrutanjan to Provogue, various local, national and international brands have made Mahesh their front face. Shutting up the mouths of critics who are saying that brands are backing up from him, vowing to his flop-image, Mahesh signed a deal with Idea-Cellular too. This way, though there are no movies in hand, Mahesh's bags are filled with full of income and craze!

Ragada releasing as 'Vambu' in Tamil


King Nagarjuna, Anushka Shetty and Priyamani starrer 'Ragada' is releasing as 'Vambhu' in Tamil. Even Prince Mahesh Babu's 'Khaleja' will hit the screens in Tamil as 'Bhadra'. The audio of both these films was launched  on the same dias at T-Nagar in Chennai on Monday.
Prasad Rao and A Venkat Rao are presenting 'Ragada' dub 'Vambu' in Tamil on their Bhadrakali films banner while 'Khaleja' dubbed as 'Bhadra' is being released by Prabhu on Guru Bramha arts banner. 'Bhadra' will release in Tamil at the end of this month while Vambu will hit the screens in May first week.
Anand Reddy launched the Tamil audio cd of 'Vambu'(Ragada) while Raghunathan released CDs of 'Bhadra'(Khaleja) and gave it to the guests at the audio launch.
Prasada Rao from Bhadrakali films hoped that the movies will do well in Tamil too.This banner is planning to re-release Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Basha' in theatres again.

Nag- Mahesh Joint Attack On Tamil Nadu!!


It is a common tradition to see remakes and dubbed versions making rounds between Tollywood and Kollywood. However, the recent past has seen a new trend in Tollywood wherein the top league stars are making special efforts to make their presence felt in the state of Tamil Nadu. This was not the practice earlier though Tollywood used to get films from Rajinikanth, Vikram, Vijay etc.

Right now, it is the turn of Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu. It appears that both are going on a joint attack to steal the box office collections at Kollywood. Sources say Nag’s ‘Ragada’ has been dubbed into ‘Vambu’ and will be released in Tamil. On the other hand, ‘Khaleja’ starring Mahesh has been named as ‘Bhatra’ and will be releasing around the same time. This is being taken there by producer Bhadrakali Prasad Rao and buzz is that he would be releasing them in Malayalam as well.

The music for ‘Vambu’ is by Thaman while ‘Bhatra’s tunes were scored by Mani Sharma. Recently, the audio release for both films took place in Chennai and Prasad Rao is positive that the songs will strike a chord with the Tamil audience. With the glamour of Anushka in both the films and the presence of Priyamani and Charmee (with special song) in ‘Vambu’, the hype is high.

As such, both flicks failed to impress the Telugu audience so let us hope they manage to relieve themselves by scoring points with the Tamil audience.

Though NTR’s ‘Shakti’ has flopped miserably, the tussle for number 1 position is between Mahesh Babu and NTR only. Compared to Pawan Kalyan who has scored hits only with remakes, point to note is NTR and Mahesh have never done remakes.

After scoring an upper hand through ‘Brindaavanam’ over ‘Khaleja’, NTR has yet again scored upper hand and this has become the hot discussion. In fact, the noted jewellery brand Malabar Gold wanted to take Mahesh as their brand ambassador. They went ahead and did a photoshoot with Mahesh and got a primary agreement signed as well.

But then, due to some reasons, they cancelled the agreement with Mahesh and took Junior in his place. Already, NTR is the brand ambassador for Navratan Talcum powder, Zandu Balm. That way, he is giving a tough competition to Mahesh in brand endorsements. By bagging the Malabar Gold offer, NTR showed his significance.

Ever since Tamil hero Vijay ran away with lead role in Rs.200 crore budgeted 'Veerudu' film directed by Mani Ratnam, the other hero in project Mahesh Babu is substantially sidelined. News about hot babe Anushka playing sister to Mahesh and lover to Vijay further disturbed the fans of charming Prince.

If all goes well, Mahesh Babu will get Bollywood sexy lady Priyanka Chopra for romance in this flick. B-Town's combo of style with simplicity, Priyanka Chopra is being considered for the lead role besides Mahesh Babu. The pretty girl is yet to meet Mani Ratnam and give her acceptance.

According to the sources, Priyanka Chopra is very much excited to work with Mahesh Babu and Mani Ratnam but for now she is tight lipped until everything becomes official. Prince should thank his director for importing bombshell like Priyanka and undoubtedly Vijay will be upset to adjust with Anushka.

The last two or three years has seen a major transformation in Mahesh Babu. The Prince of Tollywood who was reclusive, kept the media at bay and made his presence very rare to fans is now coming into the open and sharing his experiences like a face among the crowd. Here is an interesting tidbit from him.

It is heard that Mahesh along with his noted person Jayesh Galla and others went to the Wankhede stadium on Saturday to watch the finals of the World Cup. Interestingly, they were sitting with ordinary people, walked for nearly 4 kms from the parking lot to the stadium due to long line up of cars, went in the sun and got baked.

They were not in the VIP lobby and it is heard that this is the first time Mahesh did that and got real kick out of it. He also mentioned the same in his twitter account. Those who heard this are appreciating the realization moves that Mahesh has been making and are connecting with him more strongly.
