'Eega' creates 'Sega' in Tollywood

'Eega' creates 'Sega' in Tollywood
A quite common phenomenon in Telugu Film Industry is to copy the storyline and concept of a hit flick to make quick money. Balakrishna's 'Samara Simha Reddy' and Ram Charan's 'Magadheera' are the best examples of this.

Many people tried to make films in faction lines of Rayalseema, but failed at the BO miserably. In the same way, to create a record with high budget, folks tried to imitate 'Magadheera' and have bitten mud. Now, the 'segalu' of Rajamouli's 'Eega' are creating hulchul in Tollywood, with less popular film makers running after such concepts. In 'Eega', a fly plays a central role, in whose body the soul of a dead man enters to take revenge on villains.

Now, 'Pellaina Kothalo' fame Madan is said to be coming with a visual effects centered flick that has a 'parrot' in the protagonist role. Industry sources are saying that rather than copying other's concepts, this new-generation directors should try something new!

Directors going crazy on Animal Planet

Directors going crazy on Animal Planet
Faction back drop stories were once a trend in Tollywood. Later love stories commanded the Box Office and now novel concepts with small budgets are making good business. As the way Telugu movie stories follow a trend, now it is the season for cinema titles also to show particular inclination.

Last few months we are observing wildness of producers and directors in selecting their movie titles. 'Eega', 'Kandireega', 'Puli Veta', 'Aada Pul' are some of the interesting movie names causing laughter in audiences. Some are saying that directors are simply switching on the Animal Planet to find new headings. We might also get titles like Thonda, Balli and Cheema etc in future.

SS Rajamouli's 'Debut Onus' After 'Eega'

Perhaps the key reason for the nonstop success of director S S Rajamouli is his tried and tested method of functioning and a formula approach which doesn’t change for anyone. One such point is that the tough taskmaster never goes in for a debut of a hero. Buzz is that Rajamouli sees a hero onscreen and basing on their acts, he begins to sketch a role.

However, if grapevine is to be believed then the chances are that Rajamouli may have to make a small amendment to his format. Apparently, news is that Naga Babu who has been on his toes to introduce his son Varun Tej to cinema has approached Rajamouli to take up the onus of Varun’s debut.

Currently, Rajamouli is busy with ‘Eega’ and sources say Naga Babu is persuading the ace director to launch Varun. For now, buzz is that Rajamouli has not consented but cine folks say if that doesn’t work then Naga Babu should try and persuade the director for Varun’s second project atleast so that a bumper hit can be registered like ‘Magadheera’ or ‘Chatrapathi’.

Rajamouli can never experiment

Rajamouli can never experiment

For all those who are still calling ‘Eega’ as an experimental flick, it is high time they should realize that a commercial director like rajamouli can never ever experiment. One can call it just a different genre of film because Jakkanna himself agreed that what was started of as an experimental flick escalated into a medium/high budget film.
As already known, rajamouli made producer to invest nearly Rs.5crores only on visual effects of ‘Eega’ that is high for any film. Desperate movie turning into a visual feast for audience, budget could surmount somewhere above Rs.15 or 20crores given the kind of grand look rajamouli adds to his films, of course everything for a positive output. Let us see, how far this efficient team will be able to carve a different kind of movie offering a different kind of experience to audience.

Rajamouli challenges Music Director!

Rajamouli challenges Music Director!
The best combination of director and music composer would do wonders for a film. SS Rajamouli and MM Keeravani stands best example of understanding and rapport between two technicians. Rajamouli visualizes exactly the same as what his brother thinks. Till now, every film in their combination is a blockbuster musically and commercially.

The experimental flick of 'Eega' with one animated character as hero and some other live characters has become a challenge for both. Rajamouli as a technican already pre-visualized entire movie and narrated it to Keeravani asking to compose three songs, gripping background for film. Moods and situations in this kind of flicks are totally different, novelistic from regular movies. Keeping the expectations, new thought process of Rajamouli in mind, Keeravani took 'Eega' as a challenge to his receptivity. What remains to be seen is how far music magician reached the outlook of screen magician.
