What ANR 'Plucked' Between PB And PV?

Speaking about legends, there is always a valuable contribution from them which gets them to that level. However, a recent discussion among few cine intellectuals brought up an interesting topic- what exactly Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been doing that he should be bestowed with honours.

Apparently, ANR has been awarded a Padma Bhushan and a Padma Vibhushan as well. One of the members said “When ANR was at the peak of his career, he got Padmashri in 1968. He was a legend and that is justified. But later, he got Padma Bhushan in 1988 and honestly, there is something he did to deserve it. But getting Padma Vibhushan in 2011 is a farce. What he plucked in these 24 years other than living healthy.”

Another member commented “Latest, he has got Padma Vibhushan. What is it he did so far? For that matter, icons like Bapu, Ramana got nothing despite their valuable contributions. And Ramana passed away recently. Looking at this, I can understand only one thing. Whoever has good money and lives long will achieve everything, this seems to be the parameter. Ridiculous but true!!”

ANR, NTR, Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja @ 'I.M.L.S' Star Hunt

Madhura Sreedhar who made his debut directorial venture with ‘Sneha Geetham last year is now taking off with his second film ‘It’s My Love Story’ in the production of MVK Reddy of Shirdi Sai Combines. Madhura Sreedhar has announced ‘Star Hunt’ today at Taj Krishna Hotel amidst media fraternity and brand partners.

Saying about ‘Star Hunt’, Madhura Sreedhar explained, “This is a real hunt for right talent for my new movie ‘It’s My Love Story’. We say that a talented artiste needs no film family background to become a star. We have many examples for that. Anybody can apply for the lead roles as well as other roles in the film through email (starhunt@itsmylovestory.in). We have 22 main characters and 44 supporting roles apart from hero and heroine. We welcome applications from all age groups. The candidates can also drop in their applications in the drop boxes placed at the outlets of our brand partners viz Kalamandir, Big Bazar, Celkon and Music World”.

Interestingly the posters and hoardings of ANR, NTR, Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, Super Star Krishna and Sobhan Babu were scene at the event of ‘Star Hunt’ announcement implying that these were all the stars those became legends without any family background.

ANR Embarrasses Amala In Public!!

Akkineni Nageswara Rao is always known for his point blank statements and openness in views. However, there are times when even such icons can cross the line much to the embarrassment of those around. This time, it was the turn of his daughter-in-law Akkineni Amala.

The event was the presentation of the UNICEF Awards to the electronic media and one of the organizers mentioned that they were hoping this event would serve as mother’s milk to the TV news channels so that they can focus on socially relevant issues. However, it appears that ANR who was the chief guest could grasp only ‘Mother’s Milk’ and leave everything.

Apparently, when he began speaking, the speech went on breastfeeding and recalled the secret of his unfailing health, thanks to his mother’s milk. As if that is not enough, ANR reportedly added “I advised my daughters-in-law the same. Women believe that their shapes will loosen up, if they breastfeed. They do not know that shapes will loosen up even if they don't have conjugal relationships….”

Well, all this was happening amidst the presence of Akkineni Amala who was also on the dais and those who were present reveal the best that she could do was pose an embarrassing smile while her face went red.

Only 'Bharat Ratna' Is Left For Our Hero

It takes only a legend to be a recipient of the long list of awards the Indian government has to offer and we as Telugu people must be proud that there is one such person who is almost there and is left with just one more honour. He is none other than Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

Apparently, ANR has been given a flurry of prestigious honors ranging from the Dada Saheb Phalke award to the iconic Padma Vibhushan, Padmabhsuahn and Padmashri. And now, the analysts say that he is left with just one last feather on his crown and that is Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian honor.

So, if that is given ANR will have completed a full circle of awards. Despite his age, ANR has been a role model to many in terms of health and self discipline. On the other hands, his collection of trophies serves as a true example to success, talent and hardwork. Let us hope that Bharat Ratna also joins his kitty!!
