Sachin In Tears On Seeing Baba's Body

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, could not control his tears on seeing the body of his spiritual Guru Sathya Sai Baba. He flew down to Puttaparthi on Monday to pay homage to Baba.
Accompanied by his wife Anjali, the legendary cricketer reached Prashanthi Nilayam in the morning. As the couple approached the coffin where the Baba’s body was kept for public darshan, Sachin struggled hard to hold back his tears.
Those who accompanied him had to console him. Later, the couple sat silently for a while and participated in prayer. Earlier, Sachin, an ardent devotee of Baba, had cancelled his birthday celebrations on Sunday as a mark of respect for the departed spiritual guru.
However, he played the IPL match in Hyderabad, steering his Mumbai Indians team to victory against Deccan Chargers. Ever since checking in to Hotel Grand Kakatiya, he confined himself to the room along with his family members. A `Do Not Disturb` sign was hung on his hotel room door since the news of Baba`s demise came and he did not even meet his teammates before the match.

Sachin grieves; 'Do Not Disturb' sign on door

Iconic Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was a sad man on his 38th birthday on Sunday as his spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba passed away this morning. Tendulkar, who landed in Hyderabad late last night with wife Anjali and two kids, was confined to his room at the Grand Kakatiya hotel.
"He did not even have breakfast. No one was allowed to enter his room," a hotel manager told PTI.
There was speculation since Saturday that the Mumbai Indians captain would not celebrate his birthday in view of Baba's health condition.
News of Baba's demise this morning apparently came as a shock to Tendulkar.
A 'Do Not Disturb' sign was hung on his hotel room door since the news of Baba's demise came and Tendulkar did not even meet his teammates, the hotel manager said. Only Mumbai Indians owner Tina Ambani was said to have met Tendulkar and consoled him.
Mumbai Indians will take on Deccan Chargers in an IPL match match at the Hyderabad International Cricket Stadium this evening but it is not yet clear whether Tendulkar will play the match.
None of the Mumbai Indians players or officials could be contacted for a comment. (PTI)

Pray for Sai Baba, tweets Sachin

God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar is stepping into 39th year tomorrow. But he is not celebrating his birthday owing to the pathetic atmosphere in Puttaparthi.
It is known that Sachin is the ardent devotee of Satya Sai Baba. He visited Puttaparthi earlier and spent close with Baba along with Sunil Gavaskar and VVS Lakshman.
He is now feeling very sad for the ill health that’s troubling Baba from almost a month. He is not calling for any Birthday Party tomorrow. Indeed, Sachin also tweeted this way about Satya Sai Baba:
“I m praying for Shri Sathya Sai Baba's quick recovery. Hope everyone will join me in praying for his return to good health”.
Well, that seems to be a true devotion.
