'Nootokka Jillala Andagaadu' Is No More


Popular villain-turned-character artiste Nutan Prasad is no more. The 61-year old versatile actor, who was ailing for some time, died while being taken to Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.
Born on October 10, 1950, Nutan Prasad, whose real name was Tadinada Vara Prasad, started his career as a theatre artiste and made his entry into films with Andala Ramudu as a small-time villain. He played a similar role in Mutyala Muggu, which brought him a lot of name and fame.
His acting career reached its peak with the movie "Rajadhiraju" in which he acted as Saitan. The movie became very popular by his acting and the song " Kotta devudandi babu kotta devudandi" is still popular till today.
Nutan Prasad although acted with all the generation of heroes was particularly popular with the second generation heroes. Movies like "Patnam Vachina Pativratalu", "Khaidi (village munsab)", "Magamaharaju" ,"Srivariki Premalekha", "Kathanayakudu", "Aha Naa Pellanta" etc continued his winning streak.
He was famous for dialogues such as "Desham chala klishta paristitilo undhi..." and “Nootokka Jillala Andaganni”. In 1989 While shooting for the film Baama Maata Bangaaru Baata he had an accident on his spine that left him paralysed from the waist down and since then, he had to use wheel chair. He then quit acting in movies. Once in a while he appeared in guest roles. He also gives voice over and commentary for serials and movies.
He won Nandi award for the best actor in a supporting role in 1984. In 2005, Nutan Prasad was bestowed upon with NTR National award. His dialogue delivery gave villainism a comic touch. He co-starred in many movies with almost all big stars like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Chiru etc doing all kinds of characters like a comedian, villain, character artist etc, he even acted as a hero in one movie.
Before his accident, Nutan Prasad had tried his luck in politics, too. Being a staunch follower of NTR, he joined the Telugu Desam Party and campaigned for the party in the elections. Later, he dropped out of the politics because of accident.
